Become a Representative and represent the constituents in your college, unit, or division on UArizona Staff Council. Staff Council seeks to represent all staff. We are currently seeking representation from units that have no representation on Staff Council. In addition, we encourage applications from staff in any unit who identify as: male; non-binary; GenZ; people of color; and entry-level staff.
Representatives serve for a one-year renewable term, are eligible to participate in one of the 20 different University-wide committees with which UASC is involved, and are eligible to vote on UASC issues and in UASC officer elections.
The only requirements are that the employee is in an active, benefits-eligible Classified or University Staff position; the employee will be an active member attending and participating in monthly council meetings including disseminating information from council to the unit(s) they represent, and bringing forward concerns from constituents to council.
The minimum time commitment is approximately 2 hours per month (to attend general meetings and communicate with your unit). Representatives who join committees, serve as committee chairs, or serve as elected officers will spend 1-2 hours per week on UASC business depending on their role.
Council meetings are held on the last Tuesday of every month from 2-3:30pm (subject to change). Meeting minutes and recordings are available here: https://staffcouncil.arizona.edu/meeting-minutes-and-recordings
