Members of University of Arizona Staff Council (UASC) represent our council on a number of university committees and have many roles and responsibilities. Current committee assignments are listed below.

Campus Safety Commission | The Campus Safety Commission will advise the University’s Chief Safety Officer on matters related to the development, implementation, and evaluation of informed, inclusive, and responsive safety policies and practices. | Christina Rocha, Christine Salvesen |
EDGE Learning Governance Group | The University of Arizona EDGE Learning Governance Group provides strategic oversight of the EDGE Learning Management System (LMS) including business processes, content, and integration points. | Jeff Jones |
Faculty Senate | Focuses on a broad spectrum of policy issues, including academic personnel policies; instruction and curriculum policy; research policy; and student affairs policies; serves as a forum for communication and dialogue between the faculty and the University administration. | Christina Rocha, Danielle Barefoot |
Naming Advisory Committee | The President forwards all proposals for honorary naming of any site on University property to the attention of the Naming Advisory Committee which, after review and deliberation, the forwards a written recommendation on each proposal to the President for further action. | Melanie Madden |
Shared Governance Review Committee (Faculty Senate) | Addresses issues regarding the implementation and functioning of the procedures contained in the Shared Governance Guidelines and Agreements, as may be entered into from time to time. Establishes and maintains processes to: (1) review compliance with the agreement, (2) examine ways in which apparent breaches of the agreement can be addressed, and (3) consider possible extensions of the agreement. It is the body to which members of the University community can bring particular shared governance concerns, and it will also examine whether the agreement has been violated or is in need of clarification or modification. | Melanie Madden, Christine Salvesen |
SPBAC (Strategic Planning and Budget Advisory Committee) | In consultation and dialogue with the President, the Provost, and the University community, supports and enhances the success of the University through thoughtful and informed advice relating to: strategic planning, assessment of institutional priorities, review of budgetary policies, and the evaluation of programs and services. UA Employee Emergency Fund | Provides support to colleagues who face an unexpected, temporary financial hardship, such as rent, utilities, or other essential expenses, as a result of sudden illness, a family crisis, or a natural disaster. Awards are contingent on adequate contributions to the fund and the other requirements set forth within the application. University Hearing Board | Comprised of students, faculty, and staff, body to which university delegates the authority and responsibility to conduct hearings for students accused of a violation of the student Code of Conduct and/or Code of Academic Integrity. University Hearing Boards function as university agents, and members must understand and observe the legal and professional requirements of confidentiality and ethical behavior. | Isabel Chavez, Robert Sandoval |
