Melanie Madden

Melanie Madden came to the University of Arizona in 2012 to study creative writing. She taught first-year writing classes from 2012-2014, earned an MFA in Creative Nonfiction in 2014, and joined the U of A staff in 2015 as an academic advisor, becoming active in shared governance shortly thereafter. Since 2021 she has worked in the Office of Curricular Affairs, assisting colleges with undergraduate curriculum proposals and changes.

On her own time, Melanie is a storyteller and a board member of the Tucson Poetry Festival, an avid Arizona Diamondbacks and Wildcat Baseball fan, and a season ticketholder for U of A Women’s Basketball.
